Forced to change: American Airlines refused to carry passenger in 'offensive T-shirt'

A Florida Satanist during one of the flights had to change clothes that praised Beelzebub, writes NY Post.

49-year-old Swati Rooney Goyal flew from Key West to Las Vegas the day before Halloween in a black T-shirt with the inscription HAIL SATAN. Her clothes also had the phrase Est. 666 and the inverted cross.

A woman was sitting on a plane next to her husband when an American Airlines crew member told her to take offensive clothing or get off the plane.

“The gentleman asked me if I understand what the word“ insult ”means. I am a minority woman and I know what my T-shirt means. She is not offensive, ”Goyal commented on The Post.

Goyal is an atheist, she is a member of the Satanic temple. I bought a T-shirt that I was wearing on the flight in support of the temple. In addition, a woman is a vegan. She became a supporter of the Satanic temple because of its principles, among which the manifestation of "kindness to all creatures."

“I'm not a goth. I don't have a piercing. I wore no clothes with a decapitated goat, she explained to Buzzfeed. “[I was] wearing LLBean hiking pants and vegan running shoes.”

Later, she had to apologize to her Goth friends for commenting on them.

According to the website American Airlinespassengers should avoid “abusive clothing” on board the company's aircraft. However, the woman is concerned about the "foggy interpretation of the dress code."

She decided to share her story after American Airlines “did not investigate” the incident in the hope of making changes in favor of religious freedom.

“This is religious discrimination, because they behaved just like that towards me. I can only imagine how they relate to other religious groups, such as Muslims, ”Swati Rooney Goyal commented.

American Airlines contacted Goal after a published story on BuzzFeed and offered to refund her ticket price. Goyal in response asked the company to educate staff on discrimination issues.

After the Americans learned about the history of Goal, she had to close her accounts on social networks due to the negative reaction from the conservatives.
