In Florida, arrested a teenager who threatened to arrange a massacre in a school
19-year-old Douville Gonzalez was arrested in Florida for an online threat to the Marathon High School in the Florida Keys.
The teenager was charged with threatening to kill or causing bodily harm, in addition, he was also charged with illegal possession of marijuana, reports Miami Herald.
Monroe County police and the FBI arrested a guy after several residents of the region reported seeing threats to the school on his Instagram- page. As an illustration of the threats he used his photo with a weapon in his hands.
After his arrest, Gonzalez declared that the threatening post was a joke. At the moment the publication is deleted.
According to Monroe County Sheriff Rick Ramsey, he was impressed by the number of people who called to report a threatening post in Instagram.
“We always tell our citizens: “If you see something, say something.” The fact that you all communicate with your children and monitor them on social media and know what is going on there is impressive,” the sheriff said.
The threat was particularly relevant due to the group event at the school, which was scheduled for February 17, when the post appeared. The event took place at the scheduled time, but with additional protection from local law enforcement.
Florida residents and police are now especially attentive to such threats, after February 14 in high school in Parkland, Florida, shooting occurred as a result of which at least 17 people died and several injured. It is reported that the first attacker, Nicholas Cruz, triggered a fire alarm that caused a panic at school, and then opened fire on the people running.
