The authorities of New York have launched a new educational project for children with illegal immigrants.

The City Hall of New York and the City University of New York have announced the launch of a new educational project ActionNYC DACA, which will provide education for illegal immigrants through the DACA program.

The Federal Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program was adopted in 2012 by the administration of President Barack Obama to help children who illegally immigrated to the United States.

We are talking about those who immigrated to the United States before the age of 16 and before the 2007 of the year. The DACA program provides this category of persons with protection against deportation and work permits for 2.

An educational project adopted by the administration of Bill de Blasio in New York will allow immigrants to meet the requirements of the DACA program in terms of education.

“New York City is home to nearly half a million undocumented immigrants. They are our neighbors, colleagues, friends and relatives,” de Blasio says. “We've empowered these New Yorkers to come out of the shadows through ActionNYC, and now we're taking it one step further.” Our new educational initiative will provide immigrants with an invaluable opportunity to change their lives.”

Despite the overall success of the DACA, thousands of potential participants in this program from among immigrants living in New York have not yet applied for participation because they do not meet the educational requirements. To do this, you must have at least a secondary education or be trained in a qualification program.

Classes will be held at 9 institutions in the city by partners of the program: BronxWorks, Fifth Avenue Committee, Jacob A. Riis Neighborhood Settlement, LaGuardia Community College, New York City, New York City Health Centers and Queens Library.
