The mother of the children also said that she would not choose the death penalty for Jones, because she is against capital punishment, but will respect the jury's decision.

According to Secor, according to the law, any juror can decide on life for any reason or no reason at all.

“You can punish harshly with life in prison without the possibility of parole and be merciful to the people who still love these children,” Secor said.
