In Utah, revealed the sect polygamists rapists

The district court of the US state of Utah sentenced to life imprisonment the leader of the polygamous sect for child sexual abuse.

Sam Schaeffer was found guilty of one episode of rape and one episode of child sexual abuse. "You are not sentenced for your religious beliefs, but for criminal behavior," Judge Matthew Bell explained his decision, writes Lenta.ru report

The investigation found that Schaeffer, the “visionary” from the cult of “Knights of the Crystal Blade”, together with his partner John Coltharp had kidnapped their own daughters. The men explained that Scheffer was engaged to Colthharp's 8-year-old daughter, and he, in turn, was married to Scheffer's 7-year-old daughter.

According to the convict, for him the relationship with the girl was not sexual, but primarily spiritual. “I told her, ‘Find me when you grow up,’ and she said, ‘I love you,’” he explained in tears, saying he was willing to be crucified if it would make the injured girl feel better.

Police found four children — including two affected girls — in 2017, near the city of Cedar City. Two of the children were in the house on wheels, two more were hiding in empty barrels from under the water. The experts found that they could die: the temperature at this time dropped to negative values. The investigation considered that the “Knights of the Crystal Blade”, professing the imminent end of the world and recognizing polygamy and marriage to little girls, are only a cover for pedophiles, and not a religious organization.
