Ukrainian startup has returned home from Silicon Valley

In Ukraine, sales of the Petcube gadget begin, which allows pet owners to remotely monitor their pets, as well as communicate and play with them using a smartphone.

The Forum has already talked about success stories of this startup in Silicon Valley.

Petcube is an aluminum cube with a built-in wide-angle camera, microphone, speaker, and laser pointer. The gadget connects to the Wi-Fi network and allows the owner to check at any time what his four-legged friend is busy at home. The camera is controlled via a mobile application for iOS and Android.

The price of the gadget on the developer's site is 199 dollars.

The idea of ​​Petcube occurred to the Ukrainian Alex Neskin, when a puppy named Rocky stopped “letting him go” to work. The little chihuahua raised a terrible barking and scratched the furniture every time the owner left the house. Neighbors complained about the noise, and Alex was worried about the dog. He connected the controlled webcam with a laser pointer, and connected the device to the web interface to play with Rocky remotely. Thus was born the first prototype of Petcube.

After some time, Alex and his friends and business partners Andrei Klen and Yaroslav Azhnyuk launched the Petcube project on Kickstarter, an online platform that allows you to collect money to implement innovative ideas. The gadget collected 250 thousand dollars, became the most successful project for animals and gained world fame. The first batch of Petcube in less than a month was completely bought up for Catholic Christmas 2014 of the year.

Previously "Forum" писал that the volunteer project UA50 selected the first 11 Ukrainian startups, which will help to reach a new level of development, including building a business in the US.
