Famous American journalist and director died in Ukraine
According to police, in the city of Irpin near Kiev on the afternoon of March 13, the invaders shot and killed an American Time journalist, documentary filmmaker, 50-year-old Brent Renault, who worked in Ukraine, reports with the BBC.
Kyiv police chief Andrei Nebytov said the journalists were being harassed by the Russian military. Two more journalists were injured and taken to the hospital.
This is the first report of the death of a foreign journalist covering the war in Ukraine.
One of the injured journalists, Juan Arredondo, told an Italian reporter that he was with Renault when they came under fire.
“We crossed one of the first bridges in Irpen, we were going to film the fleeing refugees, and we got into the car,” he said in a video posted on Twitter.

“We crossed the first bridge in Irpen, we wanted to film how refugees were leaving, people offered to take us to another bridge. We crossed the checkpoint and they started shooting at us. The driver turned around and they continued shooting - my friend was shot from behind. I saw that he was hit in the neck. I don’t know what happened to him - we got separated, the ambulance took me,” Arredondo said.

The newspaper said in a statement that it was "deeply saddened" by the news of Renault's death, but that he did not work for the newspaper in Ukraine.
Reno last worked for the publication in 2015, according to the Times, and the press card he wore in Ukraine was issued many years ago.
Time Editor-in-Chief and CEO Edward Felsenthal and Jan Orefis, President and COO of Time and Time Studios, said they were "devastated by the loss".
