То, что это становится народной акцией, значит, что люди помнят. Помнить — важно. В такие дни важно быть вместе», — сказала певица, художница и волонтер Анжелика Рудницкая, принявшая участие в акции.

The memory of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundreds was honored also by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and his wife. 20 February, they came with candles to the Cross on the Alley of Heroes of the Heavenly Hundreds and worshiped the dead, spokesman for the head of Ukraine Svyatoslav Tsegolko said in his microblog Twitter.

«Герои Небесной сотни – настоящие ангелы-хранители Украины», — написал Порошенко в Facebook.

According to him, the dead on the Maidan became a model for the next generations.

«Они отдали самое главное, что у них было – свои жизни – за лучшую судьбу для нас, навсегда став ориентиром для будущих поколений свободных украинцев», – отметил президент.

Immediately after the revolution, the conflict between Ukraine and Russia began. For four years of confrontation, according to the portal Ukraine's Cultural Diplomacy by MFA, about 11 000 Ukrainians died, more than 25000 were injured, almost 2 million people were forced to leave their homes.
