A giraffe was born at the Texas Zoo: everyone can help choose a name for him
The Cameron Park Zoo in Waco, Texas, has announced that it is holding a contest to name a newborn Masai giraffe. Writes about it CBS6Albany.
The giraffe, born June 23, weighs 156 pounds (70 kg) and is 6 feet 7 inches (2 m) tall. The critically endangered Masai giraffe is Tanzania's national animal - the tallest land animal in the world.

The competition does not involve nominations, instead participants can pay $5 per vote to help choose one of four suggested names in Swahili: Adelaide (kind/noble), Kalani (royal/majesty), Kira (throne), and Zuri (beautiful).
Voting will last until July 9, and those who wish can make their choice by link.
