In the US, the unemployment rate reached its lowest point in half a century
The US unemployment rate fell to 3,8% in May. This is the lowest unemployment rate since 1969, writes CNN Money.
The US economy has added thousands of jobs to 223, which is better than economists' expectations.
Employers added jobs every month for seven and a half years.
In May, wages rose by 2,7% over the previous year. But economists believe that wages should have grown faster. Due to the conditions in the labor market, employers have to pay more to attract workers.
Nevertheless, economists believe that the unemployment rate still has great chances to start falling.
It is noted that over the past year, the American economy has added an average of 191 thousand jobs per month.
