In the US, record unemployment fell

The US Department of Labor reported on Friday that the number of people hired in the American economy increased by a seasonally adjusted 178 thousand last month. Economists had forecast an increase in 180 thousands.

Unemployment at 4,6% in November was the lowest since August 2007, having decreased by 0,3% compared to October as a result of hiring some and deciding others to leave the labor market.

Despite a saturated market, wage growth stopped after a steady increase in 2 months. Average hourly wages fell by 0,1% to $ 25,89. At the same time over the past 12 months, the average hourly wage increased by 2,5%.

A positive report on new jobs is another signal that the Federal Reserve will increase the discount rate this month.
