The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) warned passengers about the dangers of using the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphone aboard the plane due to battery problems.
Passengers are advised not to turn on or charge smartphones on the plane.
“In light of recent incidents and concerns from Samsung regarding Galaxy Note 7 devices, the Federal Aviation Administration strongly advises passengers not to turn on or charge these devices on board an airplane or check them as checked luggage,” the agency said in a statement.
2 September Samsung stopped sales of smartphones Galaxy Note 7, released in August, in connection with the identified cases of ignition devices and explosions during charging.
The company also announced the recall of 2,5 million devices previously sold.
It is reported that for a million sold Galaxy Note 7, the ignition problem manifests itself in 24 devices. A total of 35 smartphones were found with battery failure.
Australian airline companies Qantas, Jetstar, Virgin Australia, Tiger Airways have already banned passengers from using Galaxy Note 7 on board because of the ignition of a smartphone battery.
