At the US Air Force Edwards Air Force Base in California, the American company Sierra Nevada conducted flight tests of the Dream Chaser space cargo ship. This is reported on the company's website.

During the test flight, the truck was lifted into the air by helicopter, then the ship made an independent descent. The flight lasted 1 an hour 41 a minute, after which both vehicles landed on the runway. The test flight was aimed at checking the operation of the onboard electronics, aerodynamic systems and landing gear.

The following Dream Chaser tests are scheduled for October 2017, the full operation of the truck is scheduled for 2020 year.

The previous Dream Chaser flight tests took place in October 2013. Then, while landing, the left landing gear did not come out, causing the ship to be damaged.

Externally, the Dream Chaser resembles a mini-shuttle and is designed to send cargo to the ISS. The launch is planned to be carried out on Atlas 5 or Ariane 5 carriers, docking to the station - with the help of a dock located in the tail section of the ship. A manned version of the Dream Chaser is also being developed, which can accommodate up to seven people.

The manufacturer Dream Chaser, the American company Sierra Nevada, together with SpaceX and Orbital ATK in 2016, received a NASA contract for the delivery of cargo to the ISS to 2024.
