In the United States will be an application for illegal immigrants

In light of the tightening of immigration legislation in the United States and raids to detain illegal immigrants, 27-year-old programmer Chelso Mireles is working on a mobile application that will alert users if an immigration police raid takes place not far from them.

Mireleles, who until recently was an illegal himself, called his project Redadalertas (Raid Alerts) and promises that the application will be ready in 3 of the month, writes Vice.

The idea is for the program to send subscribers an SMS message when it becomes aware of a raid in an area within the same postal district to which the user belongs.

Raid notifications will depend on the work of the user group, which will be pre-checked and instructed for this work.

At the same time there is a risk that this application will create a list of illegal immigrants, which then theoretically could be used by the Immigration and Customs Control Service; or that the presidential administration will try to close the project.

Mireles began working on this program during the presidency of Barack Obama, but hopes that the excitement and media activity around illegal immigrants in the US will now speed up the process and provide support for more people.
