Dietary supplements are being recalled in the US after they were found to contain deadly poison.

Dietary supplements containing a toxic plant are being recalled across the country. Its poison is not safe for human health, and in some cases it can lead to death, reports KSNT.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announces that GA Mart dba H&Natural is voluntarily recalling two commercial lots of H&NATURAL TejoRoot tablets (10 g) and two lots of H&NATURAL Brazil Seed dietary supplement (0,167 g). The reason for this was the results of tests conducted by the FDA. They showed that this product contains yellow oleander.

Poisonous plant

The poison is found in the flowers, branches, stem and leaves of the oleander. The plant contains glycosides that have a beneficial effect on the heart. But if a lot of the juice of this plant gets into a person’s body, his heart muscle is simply paralyzed, as a result of which the person dies. A small amount of yellow oleander in the human body is fraught with neurological, gastrointestinal and cardiovascular disorders.

Possible symptoms after contact with the plant:

• nausea;
• vomiting;
• dizziness;
• diarrhea;
• abdominal pain;
• cardiac changes;
• arrhythmia.

Recalled batches

One report of a gastrointestinal illness associated with GA Mart has already been reported. The patient reported painful symptoms and internal bleeding after taking H&NATURAL TejoRoot.

The FDA says TejoRoot and Brazil Seed were sold through online sources such as Amazon and www.handnatural.com, as well as the Walmart online store. The recalled lots have expiration dates of March 24 and May 24.
