400 products recalled in the US: sandwiches, yogurts, croissants, salads may be contaminated with listeria
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced on Feb. 3 that more than 400 food products sold under dozens of brand names have been recalled due to potential listeria contamination. CNN.
Company Fresh Ideation Food Group LLC recalls ready-to-eat sandwiches, salads, yogurts, rolls and more, which were sold in nine states and Washington, DC from January 24 to 30.

The Baltimore company said on Feb. 3 that no illnesses have been reported so far.
"The recall was initiated after the company's environmental samples tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes," Fresh Ideation Food Group said in a statement.
According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), eating foods contaminated with listeria bacteria can cause a serious infection that can lead to symptoms such as fever, headache, diarrhea, and vomiting.

According to the CDC, it most commonly affects pregnant women and their newborns, adults 65 years of age and older, and people with weakened immune systems. "Each year, about 1600 people get listeriosis, and about 260 of them die," the agency said.
The recalled products were distributed in Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia, according to the FDA.
The products, including bacon, egg and cheddar muffins, breakfast croissants, tuna and chicken sandwiches, and fruit cakes, were sold in convenience stores, vending machines and transport companies, according to the company.

"All recalled products are labeled Fresh Creative Cuisine and/or an identifier at the bottom of the label with the name Fresh Creative Cuisine and the date of sale or production between January 31, 2023 and February 6, 2023.
