The second case of infection with the Chinese coronavirus is officially confirmed in the USA
Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Centers forum Disease Control and Prevention, CDC) confirmed the second case of coronavirus in the USA. On Friday, January 24, the symptoms of the disease were diagnosed in a woman over 60 years old. She is now in Illinois, and recently was in the Chinese city of Wuhan, informs Fox News.
The health agency reported that the woman returned to the United States on January 13, and a few days later called a medical facility and reported symptoms similar to coronavirus.
After that, she was hospitalized. The hospital has taken all safety measures so that the infection is not transmitted to other people. A laboratory study later confirmed that the woman had contracted the 2019-nCoV virus.
The Illinois Department of Public Health, as well as the Chicago Department of Public Health check for places the infected person could visit after returning to the United States before being admitted to the hospital. But there is preliminary information that the patient practically did not leave her home.
This is the second confirmed case of coronavirus in the USA. Seattle authorities have previously claimed infection with the virus. Dr. George Diaz, head of the department of infectious diseases at the Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, said the patient (a man aged 30) is in a stable condition and they await further instructions from the CDC.

Officials said another 63 cases of the virus are being investigated in 22 states. Although the virus is considered a serious threat to public health, the immediate risk to them of becoming infected for the American public is currently recognized as low.
According to representatives of the CDC, in 11 of these cases it has already been determined that this is not a coronavirus.
Alex Azar, director of healthcare and social services, told Fox News on January 24 that Americans should be sure that the country is taking the virus seriously.
“We have long dealt with this issue,” said Hazard. “We are actively preparing for this.”
