The Indiana Department of Health has granted a petition for the exhumation of the body of the famous gangster John Dillinger. Dillinger's grave, which is located in Crown Hill Cemetery in the state capital of Indianapolis, is planned to be opened for exactly one day, after which the body of the gangster will be buried again.

Native nephew of bank robber Michael Thompson filed a petition for the exhumation of 24 on June 2019, and on July 3 it was granted, сообщает TV channel RTV6. The reason why it is planned to open the grave is not indicated in the permission of the health department. The Thompson family refused to reporters in the comments. The director of the Crown Hill cemetery, Aaron Sheiman, said that he was not contacted about the exhumation and did not set a specific date.

Conspiracy theories about the fact that in Chicago, not Dillinger was shot dead, but another person - and it is this unknown person who lies at Crown Hill cemetery - has existed for a very long time. During his lifetime, Dillinger removed his fingerprints with acid, dyed his hair, plucked his eyebrows and underwent plastic surgery. So the gangster tried to tangle the tracks - after in 1934, he headed list of the most wanted criminals of the United States, compiled by the FBI.
