Californian avocados are recalled in six states because of the threat of listeria

California-based company Henry Avocado announced that it voluntarily withdraws avocados grown in California from the market because of possible listeria infection. He writes about it Fox News.

In a press release, the company wrote that the recall is a precautionary measure because the state inspectorate found positive results of the test for the presence of Listeria at the company's packaging enterprise.

So far, not a single case of the disease has been recorded after consuming Henry Avocado products.

The withdrawn products were packaged at the Henry Avocado plant in California and distributed in Arizona, California, Florida, New Hampshire, North Carolina and Wisconsin. The company began packing goods at this factory in January 2019.

Avocados imported from Mexico and distributed by Henry Avocado are not subject to recall, can still be sold and usable.

Avocados that are subject to recall are labeled with Bravocado labels, the label says “organic product” and “California.”

Listeria disease can be fatal. Children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are especially susceptible to the disease. Symptoms include fever, severe headache, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
