In North Carolina, a woman nearly died after ants attack
Donna Kearns of Arddale, North Carolina, cut high grass in her yard when she accidentally struck an anthill, which contained fiery ant.
After that insects, according to her, spread everywhere, hundreds of them stung a woman, causing acute pain, writes Fox News.
Kearns began to panic and tried to wash the ants off her body with water, but soon she felt bad, and then she fainted.
A woman was noticed by a couple driving past her house and called rescuers. Suffering from an allergic reaction to bites Kearns was taken to hospital.
Fire ants become especially aggressive if their nest is disturbed, in which case they feel threatened. According to Healthline, the ant swarm's attack starts from the legs, but then quickly spreads up the victim's body.
Fire ants are known for their extremely painful bites. They are often moved by floating colonies from 10 to 100 thousands of thousands of individuals. In contrast to honey bees, one ant can make many bites.
