Congressional elections in North Carolina will be held again due to violations

The authorities in North Carolina voted to hold repeat elections to the House of Representatives in one of the districts after investigating the violations found. This February 21 reported on Twitter state election commission.

"The North Carolina Election Commission unanimously voted to call for the holding of new congressional elections in the 9 district," the report said. The exact date of the election will be reported at the next meeting, writes Rtvi.

According to CNN, the decision was taken after Republican Party candidate Mark Harris supported the holding of new elections. He said that public confidence in the election results was undermined after some testimony of violations by staff officers became known.

“It’s clear to me now that public confidence in the elections in the 9 district has been undermined to such an extent that holding new elections is justified,” said Harris.

This is a compromised absentee, which prepared one of the staff of the headquarters of Harris. As a result, they questioned the integrity of the elections.

Prior to that, Harris demanded that the election commission confirm the election results. Republicans of the state, including Harris, also argued that there was no evidence to support the violations.

In the congressional elections, Harris scored more votes on 905 than his Democratic rival Dan McCredy. However, over the past two months, McCredy tried to challenge the results of the vote.
