An American marine was attacked by a shark off the coast of North Carolina. The incident occurred over the weekend.
This is the eighth shark attack on swimmers in the last three weeks, according to doctors from Camp Lejeune.
Raymond Eppluayt, a spokesman for the US Navy’s Camp Nizhne hospital, told the Washington-based broadcaster WITN that an 32-year-old soldier had been bitten by a July shark 4. He has torn wounds on his right arm and forearm.
The victim was taken to hospital on Saturday night and was discharged on Sunday.
In 1980, North Carolina broke all records in shark attacks.
This year, most attacks have been observed in shallow water. In particular, a 8-year-old boy was relatively easily injured, but the other two predator victims had to amputate their limbs.
