A frightening resemblance to films about a terrible future: in Russia, a robot dog was equipped with a machine gun

The robot dog, modified to have a machine gun mounted on its upper body, has attracted the attention of netizens and is reminiscent of cards from sci-fi films about the future. The publication told more about this robot Yahoo!.

As shown in the video, which has over 7,3 million views on Twitter, the silver robot dog runs and fires at various targets.

The shooting is frighteningly powerful, the bullets flying in short, jerky bursts. Despite the snowy terrain, the robot dog is able to move quite quickly.

On July 17, NowThis News released a clip of a 190-pound Boston Dynamic humanoid robot named Atlas running and jumping over obstacles, leading many netizens to associate the dog robot with the American company's designs. But, as it turned out, the United States has nothing to do with it.

While the author of the Twitter post, @sonicmega, refers to the "Jolly Dancing Robot Dogs" created by the American company Boston Dynamics, other users noted that the design is very similar to the Chinese Unitree robots.

As Cybernews reports, Sophos senior threat researcher Sean Gallagher compares the model shown in the video to that of the Guangzhou company and its Go1 robot dog model, which sells for around $3000.

When one netizen claimed the robot was a fake, another follower responded by tracing the video to the original March post by Russian businessman Alexander Atamanov, founder of a hoverbike company.

The robotic dog video appears to have been filmed in Russia, as it has a Russian flag on its left side and a wolf's head, which is commonly used by the Russian Special Operations Forces, on the other.

The parked armored vehicle in the video can be identified by its clear triangular door as a BRDM-2 recently spotted in Ukraine.
