A “flying tram” is being created in St. Petersburg
In St. Petersburg, the development of a magnetic tram project is underway. On Thursday, the designers of the Alexander Plant in Pushkin presented to the governor city Georgy Poltavchenko prototype - a platform that freely “hangs” and moves in space, moving away from the site by 25 millimeters.
As the designers plan, the platform can be used both to create an urban “flying tram” and for freight transportation.
As a pilot project is being developed for the port of Ust-Luga. The maximum speed of movement of the platform, according to the developers, is 250 km per hour.
Earlier, the designers of the Aleksandrovsky Plant suggested that the authorities of St. Petersburg should use a magnetic electric passenger train between Pulkovo and Baltiysky Railway Station.
