Gingerbread Monolith Appears in San Francisco
Creative confectioners have used gingerbread to build many scaled-down replicas of landmarks—New York's Empire State Building, India's Taj Mahal, and even Osama bin Laden's compound (also known as "Gingerbottobad"). And recently they created a gingerbread monolith, writes USA Today.
Social media users around the world have been mesmerized by the emergence of metal monolithic structures since they were first found in Utah's Red Rock Country in November. Since then, similar designs have appeared in California, Texas, North Carolina, England, and Romania.
The 7-foot-tall (2,1-meter) edible monolith rose on Christmas Day — and fell the next day — in San Francisco's Corona Heights Park, according to a local radio station and several locals who photographed it and posted the footage on Twitter.
When the radio station informed San Francisco Department of Recreation and Parks CEO Phil Ginsburg of the existence of the ginger monolith, he replied, "Looks like a great place to bake."

California has gone through a lot this year, from wildfires to COVID-19. The monolith was also not destined to stand for long.
“We’ll leave it until the carrots wear off,” Ginsburg said.
Unfortunately, they crumbled the very next day, and the structure toppled over.
What led to the destruction of the gingerbread monolith? Judging by the sounds of the wind that are heard in the video, it is probably his fault. Maybe they used a whipped cream frosting when they should have used butter? Or is it all the fault of the person who took a bite?

As ForumDaily wrote earlier:
- November 18 Utah Department of Public Safety officers stumbled upon a mysterious monolith in the middle of the Utah countryside. In the middle of the red rock, a shiny silver metallic monolith was found sticking out from the ground. He was "10 to 12 feet high" (3-3,6 meters). Officers said the object did not look like it was accidentally dropped to the ground. It looks like it was specially installed.
- On November 30, it became known that the mysterious monolith disappeared... The authorities stated that “the object received international and national attention and we were told that a person or group of people removed it on the evening of November 27.”
- Eyewitnesses recorded it being dismantled and removed on the evening of November 27 by a group of four who reportedly "left with the shrapnel," and one of them said, "Leave no trace." On the same day a similar monolith appeared in the mountains of Romania.
- On December 3, a similar-looking monolith was discovered in Atascadero, California. Video - in our material.
- December 7 The Most Famous Artist community posted pictures and tips on their website and social media that appear to be related to the monoliths, hinting that the installation of the facilities in the US is their doing.
- On the tenth of December, two mysterious monoliths were discovered in Ukraine: one of them was installed in Kyiv, the second in Poltava.
