In San Francisco, Reddit users helped find a stolen car

Members Reddit helped San Francisco freelance photographer Sebastian de Visa find a stolen car Land Rover Defender before the police.

According to SFGate, de Wiz bought the car in September in Texas and returned with his wife to San Francisco on a new car. On Friday, when the couple wanted to go and buy a Christmas tree, they found that their car was stolen.

The man turned to the police, but did not want to sit back and wait for the law enforcement officers to investigate. He posted reports about car theft in Facebook and Twitter. In the evening, de Wiz, without much hope, published a message about car theft on Reddit.

"I considered publishing on Reddit senseless, but on the other hand, I really wanted to find my car. Stolen cars are very difficult to find in the US, so I was waiting for the appraiser to get a payout from the insurance company,” the man recalls.

The first information on Reddit I saw Pablo Delaros about a stolen car.

“I immediately recognized the car. I saw him on Saturday at Jake's Steaks on Buchanan Street near Lombard Street. I saw two men dripping in a car. I usually don’t pay attention to this, but the car had plates from Texas, and I’m from there,” Delarosa said.

Soon the baton was taken over by Nick Ghirardelli, a real estate developer who lives in Marina. He saw the message on Tuesday morning, and a few hours later noticed a car when he was returning from the gym. A man called the police and wrote a message to de Visa.

“My heart started beating rapidly. I grabbed my bike and rushed to the indicated place. My car was damaged, there were problems with the ignition, the steering wheel and the brakes were broken,” said de Weese.

Now the man is waiting for information from auto mechanics, but he is very glad that he managed to return the car.
