In Russia, a schoolboy was awarded the Dmitri Mendeleev medal for creating the dumpling standard. Writes about it Fontanka.

A graduate of the metrological class of school No. 237 in St. Petersburg, Maxim Lukashev, created the so-called dumpling standard.

“It fills the mouth perfectly. It oozes, fills all the space, and there is no empty space left, especially with sour cream. It is tender and soft,” the graduate answered the question about the properties of the reference dumpling.

The guy spent 2 years on the project. First, he conducted a tasting of famous brands of dumplings among his classmates and revealed preferences. Then, having gathered "opinion leaders", he developed his own recipe for making dumplings "with the best taste and optimal size."

The schoolboy presented his reference dumpling for the tasting of the commission, whose members were teachers and a representative of the All-Russian Research Institute of Metrology. D. I. Mendeleev.

“The experts agreed that the innovator managed to create a standard for the taste of dumplings,” the city education committee said in a statement.

The schoolboy was awarded the anniversary medal of the research institute. The guy did not disclose the metric properties and details of the recipe.
