In Russia, allowed to check the correspondence in social networks
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree allowing Roskomnadzor to check the correspondence of users of social networks.
A government decree gives Roskomnadzor the right to establish the facts of receiving, transmitting, delivering and processing messages, be it voice information, written text, images, sounds, or "other electronic messages."
In addition, Roskomnadzor will be able to view and analyze the information dissemination organizer's resources, as well as record and record the actions available to users.
The agency will check the correspondence only upon request from law enforcement agencies that conduct operational search activities. The check of correspondence will be carried out twice - the second inspection should take place within a period not exceeding 60 days.
Roskomnadzor will post information on the results of the audit on its official website within five days from the date of approval of the act. The department will determine the composition of this information independently.
