Millions allocated for Crimea stolen in Russia

Russian investigators seized documents in the building of the tax service. The reason was the investigation of the embezzlement of budget funds allocated to establish the work of tax inspectorates in the Crimea.

First of all, all the documentation about contracts with firms performing for the tax service work in the Crimea and Sevastopol was seized.

This investigation began in February 2015, when the Federal Security Service detained the deputy head of the Federal Tax Service, Denis Gusev. He was accused of receiving a kickback from one of the companies that performed work under a government contract in Crimea. However, during further investigation it became clear that this was not just a matter of kickbacks, but theft of budget funds. So far, the case materials indicate the amount of theft in the amount of 94,5 million rubles ($1,7 million).
