In the city of Novoshakhtinsk, Rostov region, on Monday, April 29, a center for issuing Russian passports to residents of the self-proclaimed “Lugansk People’s Republic” (LPR) began operating in test mode, writes Medusa.

On April 30, a migration center will be opened to issue passports for residents of the “DPR.” Where it will be located is not specified.

The representative of the Main Directorate for Migration Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Kirill Alzinov, in a conversation with the agency, indicated that the center is now accepting documents from “authorized persons of the LPR.” 200 requests are processed per day. If their number increases, additional points will open. He also added that 86% of residents of the self-proclaimed “Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics” want to obtain Russian citizenship.
