In Russia, they want to remove Barbara Brylska from the 'Irony of Fate': all because she supported Leah Akhedzhakova
In Russia, the deputy head of the State Duma Committee for the Development of Civil Society, Olga Zanko, proposed “erasing” the famous Polish actress Barbara Brylska from the film “The Irony of Fate” and replacing her with a deepfake because of her statements, reports UNIAN.
Deepfake is a realistic substitution of photo, audio and video materials created using neural networks.
Brylska supported Leah Akhedzhakova, who recently fired from the Sovremennik Theater because of her speeches against the war in Ukraine. The star of the film “The Irony of Fate” called the Russians “a damned people.” The actress also advised Akhedzhakova to leave the Russian Federation.
“Leah, keep it up! The homeland, such a homeland, is unworthy of her. Of course she needs to leave. They will not give her life, these communists, people cursed by God. She needs to leave and fight like we do,” Brylskaya’s words were reported by Russian media.

“For an actor, the worst punishment is oblivion. The once-beloved actress Brylska made her choice, calling her fans “people cursed by God.” Our country gave her fame and honor, but we can just as easily erase this actress from “The Irony of Fate.” Below I will show you what a film without an actress can look like thanks to a neural network. She replaced her with Valentina Talyzina, who voiced the role of Brylska in “Irony” from start to finish. I did it myself, professionals will make it even more believable,” Zanko wrote on Telegram.
The deepfake video was not appreciated. Netizens are actively joking about the ridiculous attempt to “erase” the actress for telling the truth about the Russian Federation.
“And it doesn’t bother them that neural networks are Western technologies, not solid,” wrote one user. “And replace it with Cheburashka,” wrote another. “Sorokin and Pelevin somehow faded against the background of reality,” a Twitter user wrote. “Pugacheva also sang there, and Akhedzhakova played. In general, the field is unplowed,” users noted.
