US announces elimination of 7 al-Qaeda leaders in Syria
A military official said seven leaders of al-Qaeda organizations were killed in a US airstrike in northwestern Syria. New York Post.
The attack came on October 22 when suspected terrorists were gathering outside the city of Idlib, Central Command spokesman Major Beth Riordan told The Associated Press.
The seven people who were killed have not been identified, but Riordan said similar airstrikes would harm the terrorist group as they try to attack Americans and US allies around the world.
Afghan officials said Monday they have killed a top al-Qaeda propagandist who was on the FBI's most wanted list.

Husam Abd al-Rauf was reportedly killed during a military operation in eastern Afghanistan as the US tried to withdraw from the country after years of military presence in the region.
The details of the operation and al-Rauf's death are still unclear.
Al Qaeda did not immediately acknowledge his death after the Afghan National Security Administration announced the assassination on Twitter.
