The same brown bear who killed a tourist in the suburb of Anchorage, Alaska, attacked another man who went looking, the police said Wednesday.

The body of the tourist Michael Soltis was discovered on Wednesday after a member of the search group suffered a leg injury due to a brown bear attack. The police, looking for a bear, found the body of Soltis.

“The brown bear appeared to be protecting a body when it attacked a member of the search team,” Anchorage police said in a statement Wednesday.

According to law enforcement, the wounded member of the search group is recovering, but the bear was never found.

Soltis was an avid tourist, told in the American law enforcement agencies. He was last seen on Monday evening, 18 June. Supposedly, he was attacked at Eagle River, near Anchorage. The body of the tourist was found near the road, at the bottom of the hill.

“Police are still asking people to avoid the area due to an aggressive bear,” the release said.

“We believe the bear that attacked the volunteer also attacked the tourist and killed the missing man,” a police spokesman said.
