In Pennsylvania, a man was sentenced to 52 years in prison for attempting to kill a baby
37-year-old David Slatets from Pennsylvania was sentenced to 52 years in prison on charges of attempted murder because he stabbed his newborn daughter's face and neck in 2014 year, writes Fox News.
Prosecutors said that 11 November 2014, the Slate, kidnapped a girl from her mother’s house, cut the child’s face and neck, put it in a trash bag, then in a backpack, and threw the bag under the car near Lancaster General Hospital.
Due to the fact that the girl's mother followed the man and quickly sent the baby to the hospital, the girl survived. But the child has a scar.
Lawyers say that Slits suffers from schizophrenia and stopped taking medication several days before the incident. However, the court found the man guilty of attempted murder and sentenced him to 52 years of imprisonment with the right to review the sentence after 26 years.
