In New York, launched a new ferry route
In New York, they officially launched the LES ferry route, which will help residents of the metropolis to reach Long Island, the Midtown East and the Financial District.
The LES route includes 5 stops along East River-Wall Street / Pier 11, Corlears Hook, Stuyvesant Cove, East 34th St and Long Island City. The duration of the route is 32 minutes.
“With the launch of 2018 routes, NYC Ferry will continue to create connectivity throughout the Bronx, Upper East Side and Lower East Side,” said Cameron Clark of NYC Ferry. “We encourage everyone to get on board and explore these new, affordable routes that will improve commuting and reduce travel times for thousands of New Yorkers.”
Ferry tickets available for purchase on board or via NYR Ferry app , will remain at the current level - $ 2,75. The app also offers up-to-date ferry schedules.
In addition to Wi-Fi and charging stations, passengers are offered bars with drinks and snacks.
The mayor of De Blasio announced at a press conference a decision on additional routes by the end of the year.
NYC Ferry serves six million New Yorkers since its launch in May 2017, and expects 2023 to serve 9 millions of passengers by the year.
