Members of the Russian diamond mafia were detained in New York

Law enforcement agencies in New York detained members of the Russian “diamond” mafia, the TV channel reports. abc7ny.com.
Participants in the criminal gang deceived several dozen businessmen selling diamonds and other precious stones. Russian-speaking gangsters bought up jewels from the owners of various firms, writing out invalid checks or promising to pay for the goods after delivery. And then they resold gems through jewelry stores in the Diamond District area of Manhattan.
The suspects fraudulently earned about $ 9 million. So the gangsters have been doing business with 2015 in New York, Las Vegas and Mumbai.

“We thank our law enforcement officers for their work. We had to apprehend the members of the group and stop this criminal scheme forever,” said Manhattan District Attorney Joon Kim.
It is assumed that the suspects will appear in court in Lower Manhattan in the near future.
