In New York, an underground drug lab exploded, a firefighter died
44-year-old fire service captain Michael Fahey died, and at least 12 people were injured in an explosion in an underground laboratory in the Bronx on Tuesday morning.
Firefighters arrived at a call about the leakage of domestic gas in 6: 22 in the morning on September 27, and it turned out that there was a cannabis growing laboratory in the room, and there were propane canisters, writes The New York Times.
The firemen blocked the gas, police and emergency services also arrived at the scene to carry out the evacuation of people.
The explosion occurred an hour later, when there were firefighters and police. As a result of the accident, about 12 people were injured, the captain of the fire service died from his injuries.
Doctors estimate the condition of other wounded as heavy.
An investigation is underway, it is still unclear what caused the explosion, the central gas supply was blocked, therefore, most likely, gas from the laboratory exploded.
