New York created a visa program for people with unique ideas
The leadership of the metropolis wants to follow the global trends - to attract the best minds of the planet, original ideas, start-ups. The New York Times even suggested that thanks to the project, a new Ilon Musk would soon come to the University of New York City.
The lucky 80 who received the H-1B visa under the program will not be associated with a nationwide pool, within which 85 thousands of such visas are issued annually. According to the plans of the officials, entrepreneurs will settle directly on campuses, acting as consultants for students. The details of the employment of foreigners are still unclear, but representatives of NYCEDC say that in the next three years around 700 jobs will be created under the program.
According to the mayor of New York, Bill de Blasio, such measures are aimed at ensuring that the city remains a magnet for talent from around the world.
