New quarantine zone to be created in New York due to Covid 2019

Cuomo said that the US National Guard will be sent to the quarantine zone, they will deliver food to residents who are in the quarantine of the house and disinfect public places.

In turn, the mayor of the city of New Rochelle Noam Bramson said that the military will not perform military or police functions. He emphasized that “this is not an exclusion or quarantine zone”, therefore “no one is allowed to enter.”

The state governor confirmed that there will be no restrictions on entry into the city. However, he noted, places of large gatherings of people - schools, public places and large enterprises - will be closed for two weeks. A nursing home that is not located in the contagion zone will also be closed because older people are particularly susceptible to coronavirus infection. “This is a very serious measure, but this is the largest outbreak in the country, and it is literally a matter of life and death,” Cuomo said.

According to local media, the infection center in New Rochelle is a local synagogue. It is reported that the first identified infected resident was the man who visited her. About a thousand parishioners of this temple are now in quarantine.
