Gordon (debut role), as well as the author of the book and part-time director and screenwriter of the film, David Bezmozgis.

David Bezmozgis is called the chronicler of the Russian-Jewish emigration, the heir to Babel, Philip Roth and Bernard Malamud. David, who immigrated at the age of 6 with his family from Riga to Canada, entered the twenty best writers before 40 (according to The New Yorker, 2010 year), and his novels are published in more than 20 countries of the world.

The film “Natasha” (2017) is a film adaptation of the novel “Natasha and Other Stories” (2004). The film deals with the immigration of Russian Jews to Toronto through the example of a forbidden romance between two young people: 16-year-old Mark, the son of Russian immigrants, and Natasha, who moves to Canada with her mother, who plans to marry the young man’s uncle.

“Natasha” is one of the first full-length films of the Canadian Russian-Jewish community, shot in Russian. In the program - the show and chat with the director, screenwriter and other filmmakers and discussion of the picture.
