In New York, the dog saved the owners from carbon monoxide poisoning
Ronena Ando of Buffalo, New York, woke up at 1 a.m. to the loud barking of her 3-year-old pit bull, Ruby. She begged the dog to calm down and go to sleep, but the dog remained “persistent” until the owner got out of bed, she says Fox News.
Certified dog therapist, Ruby was trained to behave calmly and respond to commands. When the dog asked to go outside, she rang the bell and did not bark. Reassure the animal Ando failed. The hostess understood: something is happening.
“I bet it lasted about an hour and a half,” says Ronena. “This breed of dog is smart, they just don’t bark.”
Following Ruby, the hostess found herself in her own garage. I opened the door and felt the strong smell of propane. Looking around, Ando saw a propane heater that cracked and leaked gas. The heater was placed there to prevent the pipes from freezing. If it were not for Ruby, Ronen and her boyfriend could get poisoned by carbon monoxide in a dream.
“There is no doubt that the dog saved our lives with its many hours of barking in the middle of the night,” said the animal’s owner.
