In New York, sold the treasure from a sunken ship

In New York, treasures were sold at auction from the Spanish royal ship Nuestra Senora de Atocha sunk in the 17th century. This was reported by representatives of the auction house Guernsey's.

The ship sank in 1622, in 56 kilometers west of the Key West Islands (Florida). On the ship there were about forty tons of jewels, coins, gold and silver bars.

A search team led by Mel Fisher found the sunken ship 20 July 1985 of the year. The cost of the jewels lifted from the bottom was estimated at 450 million dollars.

The auction house Guernsey's put up for auction more than forty precious finds. The gold plate was sold for 93750 dollars. Golden cross with emeralds - for 119 thousand dollars. Golden Bowl - for 413 thousand dollars. A spoon of gold - for 62,5 thousands of dollars.

Part of the proceeds from the auction will go to the Heart charity foundation to equip American schools with defibrillators.
