“Most people moved to the city to avoid long commutes,” he said. “Instead of going south or east, they're going west or north, so you see a lot of demand in Jersey City and the South Bronx.”
Valhouli noted that the price was probably influenced by the distance of Sheepshead Bay from Manhattan.
Now, Sheepshead Bay is an affordable option for those “who love the city and want to make a home here,” Walhouli added. “Otherwise, it’s impossible to scrape together $200 for a down payment without someone’s help or a big salary.”
