In New Jersey, a three-year-old child drowned in the family pool
A three-year-old boy drowned in the pool of his family. The tragedy occurred in New Jersey.
The boy Lucas Heins was in the backyard of his home on Fort Plains Road in Howell when several other young children swam and played under adult supervision, police said. The children left the pool, played in the courtyard and, finally, returned to the house, and it was then that Lucas's mother realized that there was no boy.
She went outside and discovered that he was swimming in the pool. She began to make an indirect heart massage to the child, and the witnesses, meanwhile, called 911. In the water, the boy was about 10 minutes before he was discovered.
The first rescuers arrived within a few minutes and tried to reanimate it and restore the pulse, police said. The baby was taken to the Jersey Shore Medical Center, but he died early in the morning.
Monmouth County police and prosecutors say the investigation is closed. Drowning is not considered criminal or suspicious.
