In New Jersey, illegals were allowed to receive government financial assistance

Application form getting financial help for illegal immigrants is already active on the state government website. Illegal residents of New Jersey, according to official information, are entitled to the same assistance as Americans living in the state. However, they must meet several conditions.

Illegal immigrants, including “dreamers,” can apply for state financial assistance if they:

• graduated from high school in New Jersey;
• attended high school in New Jersey for at least three years;
• they promise to legalize their immigration status as soon as they have the opportunity.

Before reaching the governor's desk, the undocumented immigrant bailout bill passed the state Senate and Assembly, with votes largely split along party lines: Democrats in favor; Republicans are against it.

Republicans criticizing the bill noted that New Jersey taxpayers have limited opportunities and therefore the state should not provide unlimited financial benefits to illegal immigrants.

Democrats insist that the financial costs of studying at a university are getting higher, and many students cannot afford to pay them, and this financial assistance will make education more accessible for them.

By adopting this law, New Jersey has become the tenth state of the United States that allows illegal immigrants to receive financial assistance, a rule already in force in Oregon, Connecticut, Texas, Oklahoma, California, Washington, New Mexico, Minnesota and Hawaii.
