In Nevada, a criminal stole a car with children inside: the kids were saved thanks to the courage of a 9-year-old girl

Heroic 11-year-old reveals how she saved her XNUMX-month-old little brother after they were kidnapped by a Las Vegas car thief Dailymail.

Neela Prentiss and her 11-month-old brother King were abducted from their mom's parked Dodge SUV on October 25 after the hijacker got into a car that was parked outside a 7-Eleven.

The girl described how she sat in the back seat of the car with her brother, and her mother, Karen Quinn, a mother of five, entered the store to use the ATM around 20:30.

“My mom went to the store to put some money on her card, and this person looked at her strangely, and then ran out into the street, tried to open the door of my mom’s car,” Naila said.

“And then my mother went outside and asked: “What are you doing next to my car?” the girl said.

“As she was walking up to her car, the car opened, and this guy got in the car and stepped on the gas,” the girl said. “And I didn’t want to touch him because he was driving fast and I didn’t want to die.” Police later identified the suspect as 38-year-old Mario Estrada.

Estrada left the scene with two children at high speed. Meanwhile, Naila sat silently in the back seat and thought about what to say.

"I said, 'Please, sir, let us out of the car.' I have nothing to do with this, please just take the car and let us go,” the girl said.

Estrada then stopped and ordered the children to get out of the car.

“The only thing I was worried about was my little brother. And so I tried to grab his shoes, but the criminal wouldn't let me. He said, "Get out." So I grabbed his pacifier and my brother and I ran,” the girl said.

Neela ran about five blocks back to 7-Eleven with her bossy brother in her arms. Her mother Quinn was looking for them after she chased the SUV out of desperation.

“I was looking for some lights, and then I saw the 7-Eleven we were in, and then I went in there, I was shaking and crying,” the girl said.

The nine-year-old girl said that Estrada looked at her before getting into the car. She was traumatized and couldn't sleep after the incident.

The family's stolen car was spotted on I-15 and a chase began before Estrada crashed into another vehicle.

Estrada faces 10 charges, including second-degree kidnapping and grand larceny.

Organizer Irene Brown, Niyla's great-grandmother, said the nine-year-old suffers from a kidney condition known as nephrotic syndrome FSGS.

“Now she was having nightmares, she was telling her mother that she didn’t want her or her brother to die,” Brown wrote.

Brown also said Neela's other siblings were also hurt and "scared." The family is trying to raise $25 and as of Monday afternoon they have raised $000.
