Primary school in Phoenix offered students a rather unusual educational video game Flight to Freedom about 14-year-old slave Lucy. Writes about this channel AZFamily.

The game is positioned as a multimedia project with interactive adventures at different points in US history. One of the tasks takes place in the 1848 year. Schoolchildren are offered to become Lucy's 14-year-old slave and plan an escape from the plantation.

Local activists and critics oppose the game in the classroom, saying the game exposes slavery in the US as the norm.

“This is not a game in any form, because slavery is not a toy, and this is unacceptable when it comes to all the horrors that occurred in those times,” said human rights activist Richard Kruce.

After such close attention of the public, the game was immediately banned from use.
