About 8 thousand people took part in the rally against the demolition of the five-story buildings in the framework of the housing renovation bill in the capital on Sakharov Avenue in Moscow. This is reported on Online Office of the Ministry of Interior of Moscow.
At the same time, the journalists of “White Counter” estimated the number of participants in 20 thousand, writes “Rain".
В During the speeches, calls were made to dismiss the mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin, as well as to go to the next rallies against corruption.
Initially, the organizers said that 5 thousand people should come to the rally.
The rally took place without incident, but the police detained one person who came with a poster criticizing President Vladimir Putin. Opposition politician Alexei Navalny, his wife and son were also taken out of the rally. The police asked them to leave the cordon after the politician approached the stage.
On May 2, the Moscow authorities published a list of 4566 five-story buildings, which will be voted on to be included in the housing renovation program. When compiling the list, the technical condition of the house and the opinion of its residents, obtained during a preliminary survey, were taken into account.
But the protesters expressed fears that their rights would be violated as part of the renovation, for example, that they would be deprived of the right to choose. There was also concern that high-quality houses could be included in the program, the technical condition of which would allow them to serve for many more years. In addition, some worried that Moscow, as part of the renovation, could be built up with 25-storey buildings, and the capital as a whole would become an uncomfortable city.
At the same time, some participants expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that houses, which really require resettlement, were not included in the preliminary list for voting.
Immediately after the rally, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that the Moscow authorities would carefully consider the statements made.
«Внимательно отнесемся ко всем содержательным заявлениям, прозвучавшим на митингах в Москве по программе реновации, в том числе противников программы. В ходе работы над проектом мнения москвичей будут максимально учтены», — написал Собянин на своей странице в социальной сети "In contact with".
