In Los Angeles, a man lied about mass shooting: the reason for the strange joke was unexpected

An 22-year-old man gave a false warning about mass shooting at a fair in Pomona, Los Angeles, to avoid traveling with his parents.

Eric Villacenor sent an email to the Los Angeles County Fair Association with a warning that someone is planning to conduct a mass shooting on Sunday at the fairground.

“It would cause chaos and excitement and would certainly be covered in the media,” — Pomona Police Chief Michael Olivieri told reporters. “Then he could use this as a good argument for his parents not to go to the fair.”

In a conversation with the authorities, Villacenor allegedly admitted that his email was false.

According to reports, Villasenor, who lives with his parents, is currently being held in Pomona City Prison on bail of 20 000 dollars.
