In the face of Blatter threw a pack of dollars

British comedian Simon Brodkin threw a pack of dollars in the face of the acting president of FIFA Joseph Blatter.

The incident occurred before the beginning of the Blatter press conference in Zurich, devoted to the results of the FIFA Executive Committee on Monday. The event had to be postponed to a later date.

“We need to clean this place up,” Blatter said.

The FIFA executive committee determined the date of the upcoming election of the organization’s president - 26 February 2016.

At the end of May, a corruption scandal broke out in FIFA, as a result of which several officials of the organization were removed from their activities. On May 27, seven high-ranking FIFA officials were detained in Zurich on suspicion of corruption, after which a large-scale international investigation began. In addition to the Swiss police, the FBI is investigating the facts of corruption in the organization.

Most of those arrested were charged with accepting a bribe on a particularly large scale when choosing countries to host the world championships.

The head of FIFA, Joseph Blatter, amid a scandal re-elected for a fifth term, announced decision to leave the post. According to the organization’s regulations, he will act as president of the federation until the next election.
